The Gay-Straight Alliance is open to all students, both gay and
straight, who are interested in promoting tolerance and acceptance of
all students. Friends, relatives, and allies are welcomed. One goal of
the club is to help educate members of the LHS community through
awareness-raising events, such as The Day of Silence.
Another goal of the club is to provide a safe and supportive
environment for members to discuss issues that affect them. The Club
also regularly participates in community projects, such as World AIDS
Day, and does at least one community service project each year. A major
event each year is attendance at the True Colors Conference, held at CCSU each spring.
